RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults and Children Over the Age of Reason)
RCIA is the process by which new members are initiated in the Church. Most of what is found in the RCIA is quite ancient, having been developed in the early centuries of the Church's life. Restored after Vatican II, the RCIA seeks to initiate the new member through a process of reflection and conversion, marked by stages and rites. The document The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, states "The initiation of new members is the duty of all the baptized." Thus, the active involvement of all the members of the parish community, is a very important aspect of the RCIA.
To begin the RCIA process, or to volunteer as a sponsor, godparent, catechist or prayer partner, please contact the rectory at 941-1646 or Ilean Petrizzo, Coordinator of RCIA at (914) 923-3286.
Director / Coordinator of RCIA for our Parish is Mrs. Ilean Petrizzo.
