St. Theresa’s scripture study programs are held twice a year, generally in the Fall and during Lent. It’s a wonderful way to deepen your faith and to meet new people at the same time. Programs vary in their focus. We might explore Catholic beliefs and practices, concentrate on our personal spiritual growth, or study individual books of the Bible.
Materials can include books, study guides and videos (all materials are provided). Program participants complete assigned readings in preparation for each weekly session, at which we prayerfully reflect on God’s word, review study questions, and have some lively discussions too. Upcoming programs are announced in the parish bulletin. If you have any questions, please contact the lay coordinators Carol and Bob at [email protected] or call the Rectory at 941-1646. We’re a friendly, low-key group and everyone is welcome—please join us!

“Luke: The Story of Salvation Fulfilled” is an 8-part study on the Gospel of Luke, beginning with the foretelling of John the Baptist’s birth and concluding with St. Luke’s account of Jesus’ glorious Resurrection and Ascension into Heaven. The life and teachings of Jesus come alive through many parables, including some found only in Luke: the Prodigal Son, the Rich Man and Lazarus, and the Good Samaritan.
We will meet weekly to watch the program videos followed by a lively group discussion, prayer and fellowship. Please sign up by March 1 by emailing [email protected] or calling the Rectory at 914-941-1646. We hope you will join us this Lent!
